Have you ever thought, “I wish I had a clone to help me get through everything I need to do?” Most people will admit to fantasising about the idea of having personal assistance to make the day easier. Rosie the robot from The Jetsons cartoon is the gold standard in what that might look like on the domestic front, but what about for real estate sales?

The truth is that all people are affected by the human limitation of time and everyone on the planet gets the same 24 hours in a day as Beyonce.

We have to sleep, we have to eat – but what we do with the rest of our time is a very real equaliser among humans, and especially salespeople. It is called productivity: which is a great mix of efficiency and effectiveness.

Efficiency vs Effectiveness

These two words are often used interchangeably, but they are different. Effectiveness is your ability to get the right outcome and efficiency is how many resources it takes to produce. A great example is a diet.

Human beings need around 2,200 calories a day to maintain their weight. You can efficiently consume 2,200 calories a day by eating 4 and a half Snickers bars; however, this is not an effective way to eat because of the various health problems that would produce, not to mention the impact of highly fluctuating blood sugars.

Productivity can not be achieved if we do not design tools that not only scale our efforts but also replicate our quality.

Automation

Automation, which is the ability of a machine to perform tasks without a human user, is exciting and many software products incorporate automation features. It is a set and forget convenience that makes it such a critical tool for agents who want to scale. Yet automation alone, that is without the input of artificial intelligence, can be a bit of a robotic experience, and customers have come to demand a more humanised and more personalised interface.

The Answer: Automation + Intelligence

Artificial intelligence is the word we use to describe a group of computing techniques that are intended to imitate human intelligence. When you take a machine and give it the ability to “think” like a human and then to perform tasks without needing a human to drive it – then suddenly you get something that is much more like a colleague than a computer.
